Woodpecker is a simple and easy-to-use add-in for Microsoft Word. It enables you and your team to standardize and automate your frequently used documents within Microsoft Office so that you can effectively manage your documents and ensure continuity throughout your organization. Once you integrate Woodpecker into your existing workflow, you'll likely experience an immediate sense of joy as you witness productivity skyrocket across your entire team. However, sometimes it can be tough to integrate a new tool into an existing workflow. Fear not! That's exactly what we're going to help you do with this post 😊.
Getting started
To start, here's a link to our step by step guide on how to use Woodpecker to supercharge your first document. There's only four steps don't worry. Check out the guide for a quick start tutorial that'll get you up and running in five minutes.
After you've familiarized yourself with Woodpecker and standardized your first document, the next step is to share it with your team. If you're like most folks, good old email is the quickest and easiest way to share documents with the rest of your team. Fortunately, the email method of sharing works great for a Woodpecker document. After you've standardized your document with Woodpecker, simply include it as an attachment to any email and send it off! Anyone who opens your document will see all of the fields you've created as long as they've downloaded and opened Woodpecker as well. So far so good!
Using your document
Once your Woodpecker document is shared, any time a team member needs to prepare the document for a new recipient, they only have to update the information that is different. For example, if a lawyer is preparing a standard contract and only needs to change one or two pieces of information (say the address and personal information of the recipient), they can simply open up the contract, launch Woodpecker, and change the things that need updating directly from the Woodpecker interface. Woodpecker will update the entire document so there's no hunting and manual editing. Easy! 👍
No more waste
We believe this process represents document automation at its finest. Woodpecker allows you to update the parts of your document that need to change and lets you keep everything else the same. The process also helps limit copying and pasting which inevitably lead to mistakes. Obviously reducing mistakes is key to making your team more efficient. Let Woodpecker do the work for you and eliminate "mistake" from your team's vocabulary. No more wasted time, effort, and most importantly no more wasted money 💸.
